Faculty
Currently full and part-time, permanent and temporary Kutztown University Faculty may borrow materials and equipment from the Audiovisual Center. A current KU ID is needed to check-out materials and equipment from the AV Center. All non-print materials circulate to current Kutztown University faculty for a period of six months and may be renewed. With respect to technology, Kutztown University has a decentralized configuration whereby each classroom building has a supply of equipment. The Rohrbach Library Audiovisual Center provides for auxiliary classroom need and circulates equipment for one week to faculty. Faculty may also renew AV equipment for one additional week.
Emeriti Kutztown University faculty may borrow AVC materials for a period of one-week with one renewal.
Staff
Non-print materials circulate to staff for a period of one week and may be renewed for one week if no holds have been placed. Staff may borrow AV equipment for a period of one week.
Students
Non-print materials circulate to matriculating Kutztown University Students for a period of one week and may be renewed for one week if no holds have been placed. Students may borrow AV equipment overnight with no renewals.
Courtesy Borrowers
Only K-12, public school teachers within our service area may borrow non-print materials from the AV Center for a period of one week. AV equipment does not circulate to any courtesy borrower. Our service area includes Berks and Lehigh counties. Other courtesy borrowers may preview materials from the AV collection in one of our preview rooms.
Fine Policies
Kutztown University faculty and staff are not fined for the late return of AV materials or equipment.

Lost/damaged Items Policies
Kutztown University faculty, staff and students as well as public school faculty are responsible for the materials and equipment they borrow from the AV Center. Materials and equipment defined as lost or damaged shall be paid for at an amount determined by the AV Center staff.
Audiovisual Center Computers
Purpose:
To provide student, faculty and staff access to a Macintosh Laboratory and to lend, for use outside the Rohrbach Library, PC and Macintosh laptops, digital cameras, data projectors and a variety of other technology.
Equipment:
The AVC provides over forty Apple Macintosh microcomputer workstations to all KU faculty, staff, and students. The facility is equipped with forty Apple iMacs, and six Power Mac G4s, all running OS X. Peripheral devices include: laser printers (3), color laser printers (2), and scanners (10). Internet connectivity to the Kutztown University wireless network is throughout the area.
In order to gain optimum use of the university microcomputers in the Audiovisual Center, the following policies have been established.

Video Surveillance:
In order to maintain security for our students, staff, visitors and the security of the collections, the AV Center public area is monitored by a video surveillance system. Public Safety officers are able to monitor AV Center activity and to record and archive relevant events.
Audiovisual Center Laptop Computers
Purpose:

Procedures:
Students are asked to complete a lending policy form once, each semester. With a student Lending Policy Form on file, the student needs to present a valid KU ID and a second piece of ID with a signature to borrow equipment from the AV Center. Laptops circulate on a first come basis and are due by closing on the following day.

Audiovisual Center Reserves Policy
The Audiovisual Center is pleased to assist Kuztown University with a non-print reserve service so that students may review supplemental classroom material or a missed classroom presentation. Video and sound materials that are supplied by the department will be placed on reserve for the time period specified by the faculty member. Materials from the Audioviusal Center collection will be placed on reserve for a maximum of three weeks. The Audiovisual Center staff need a minimum of two days so that materials can be prepared for reserve circulation. Time is also needed to notify faculty of the temporary Call Number(s) that students will use to request the reserved materials.
